Winter at the park
January 8th, 2009Tibetan Meditation…
October 22nd, 2008Sometimes, at least once per day, I like to go out into my fenced back yard and meditate. I sit still as a statue and look off into space. I listen to the birds and sniff the air. Sometimes though, I am so lost in thought I don’t listen at all. Like today when Mom came out looking for me and snuck right up on me. She said my name and I about jumped out of my skin!
She wonders if I meditate….
My favorite thing to do is sit very very very still, especially when my people have to be someplace and want me in the house so they can leave. They call, and I become a statue. At this time of year it is awesome, I blend right in with all the birch and cherry leaves on the ground. They can not see me unless they come out looking and even then if I am still enough their eyes might wander right past me. They call. I don’t respond. Then just as the frustration is building I hear my favorite word… COOKIE? I still don’t budge, just out of principle. They usually say again COOKIE? I do my best Garfield impersonation. Finally fed up they walk back to the house. Now the race is on and I usually beat them to the door. I sit there as cute as I can and silently ask COOKIE? Sometimes I get lucky and get one even though I did not respond as I should have. Sometimes I don’t and just get asked to go in my crate so they can leave. It’s always worth a shot.
Mom would like to hear from other families who might have a meditatin Tibetan Terrier. Do they all do this? Is it in their genes? Does your TT meditate? Watch closely, you just might catch them doing it.
Take time to hear the whispers from within…

Columbus Day
October 13th, 2008Today I took my family for a walk at Borderland Park in Easton. It was a beautiful day, just the right temperature. There were so many dogs there, it was like an all breed dog show! I even saw a horse. I enjoyed stomping throught the leaves and all the great smells in the air. My tail was wagging the whole afternoon. My family enjoyed it too, great to be out in the fresh air.
September Morning.
September 11th, 2008Another gorgeous day. I took both Mom and Dad for a walk today. It was so nice and peaceful. I watched Mom clean up the boys rooms… and made myself at home on the bed. I had a little accident last night and peed in my bed. So Mom is washing all that. Tomorrow morning I am going to get a bath… UG.
It was nice having everyone home today. I love my people.
Gorgeous day….
September 8th, 2008So I made sure I took Mom out for a walk. She really needs all the exercise she can get. We saw a sharp shinned hawk and talked to a couple of the neighbors. I love walking in the morning. It was fun.
The boys were both at school today. Oh and speaking of school… it got me thinking of when I went to school. That’s right Puppy Class! I went with Mom for 8 weeks at Steppin’ Up Dog Training Complex I did very well and I really enjoyed the time with Mom and seeing all those other puppies. The best part though was the puperoni! yum. Everyone there thought I was cute as a button… I recieved my diploma when I was 6 months old.
I hope to get into a class soon for my CGC (canine good citizen certificate). Mom says every civilized dog should have one 🙂 I am sure I will have no problem with that. Plus it will be good to have, it gets me in places.
Last out’s for me then bed.
Til next time…

Tropical Storm Hanna
September 6th, 2008Today I did nothing. That’s right, absolutely NOTHING. It has been raining on and off and I went outside a few times. I got all wet, ew I hate that… do you have any idea how long it takes this lovely coat to dry?!
So I decided curling up with my pheasant while the kids played and cleaned their rooms was the way to go.
Yawn… maybe I will have more to say tomorrow.
Have a tail waggin kind of evening.

September 5th, 2008What a beautiful day. This morning I went for a walk with Mom while the boys were at school. We are both enjoying the quiet, though I did also enjoy playing on the swingset with them after school. I have this thing that I do. I climb the stairs into the treehouse and slide down the slide over and over. I love doing it, it’s fun. Mom will have to figure out how to post the video for everyone to see 🙂
I feel the storm coming. I have been a little excited today. I kept whining on our walk and I love sitting facing into the wind. I had to stay inside for a bit this afternoon when Mom found a bat inside the patio umbrella when she was preparing for the storm. I didn’t see it, and that is probably a good thing.
Mom cleaned the house yesterday and put all my toys back in my crate. I hate that. I finally got the last of them, my pheasant, back out onto the living room rug where they belong. Jeesh!
Nina sent Mom some pictures of two of my sisters. I can’t get over how much they look like ME! It is amazing. We are a beautiful bunch! You can see them under the category there on the right that says Litter Mates.
I am glad to be home. We just returned last week from a trip to the white mountains in New Hampshire. I had a great time watching my boys fish, and hiking and exploring along the river banks. I even got to ride on the scenic railroad… I was such a good girl. I just love being with my people! Mom found a great house to rent on homeaway.com If you are ever traveling with your people, its a great place to look for lodging.
Here are some pictures from our trip.
It was an adventurous week and I had alot of fun! I learned that bear and moose sure do smell funny! Every time I went for my morning walk, it was so distracting to smell all the new scents that I almost forgot why I was walking!
I wonder where we will go next?
Searching for my Siblings…
September 4th, 2008There comes a time in a dog’s life when you start to wonder what the rest of your litter looks like. What they are doing, what they have accomplished, where they all live and their stories.
I guess that is partly why I started this blog, to find my siblings.
If you were part of my litter and would like to add some posts or pictures here just register. I can’t wait to hear from you!
Honey of a Mom…
September 3rd, 2008
So as I mentioned yesterday I was born a year ago.
My Dam is named Honey
and my Sire is KC.
My human family met them before I was even born when they came to meet Nina of Shalimar Tibetan Terriers. They loved my parents and decided that they wanted one of their puppies. Weeks passed and soon there were 6 of us to choose from.
It was a very hard decision and the family came back when we were 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks old. We were adorable and I can’t say I envied their choice. I really liked their little boys so on the last visit I decided to separate myself from the field of prospects and be just as cute and cuddly as I could be. The Dad picked me up and I acted like a noodle in his arms. Then the older boy held me and I stayed snuggled into his lap the entire time. The Mom was looking over the bunch but noticed how cuddly I was being.
There was talk about me and my sister who was close in size to me but just a little darker.
Then they talked about showing and possibly puppies down the line. The Mom picked me up and I was so happy to be held. When she put me back in the bed with my siblings I decided to stretch out.

The next day I explored my new home, my bed and crate and toys and food dishes and the big back yard. This place was going to be home. I was missing my brothers and sisters and my doggie Mom badly… and I even cried myself to sleep for about 2 nights. But soon I realized I loved my new family and my home!
